Prayer by B

Dear God,
Thank you for this wonderful food you have provided for us. We lift every injured animal up to you that needs your help. Thank you for this wonderful day you have provided for us. We lift every person up to you who is having trouble or is injured, people who have lost their jobs. Please help everything that you have provided for us get along well. Thank you for our warm houses that you have made people provide for us. And we lift those up to you who do not have warm house and do not have money to buy the things they need. Thank you for my family. Thank you God for letting my sister and me be people who work with the weather. Amen

Prayer of the Week- Living a Life of Jesus

I had a wonderful idea for my post tonight, but it did not work out. Here is what I had planned on giving you in a handwritten version for my prayer of the week, then I realized that I would not be able to make it large enough to be readable.

Tonight I am having a wonderful time thinking about how I am going to write my prayer of the week. I have decided to participate in the hour long time of using less electricity, so I am sitting at the table writing out my prayer in the light of two oil lanterns. As I look out the window you can tell the city has not decided to participate, because you can see the lights reflecting on the fallen snow.

I get my inspirations for my prayers from books, sermons, magazines and my children. If there is something you would like me to pray about, please leave a comment.

Dear Lord,

Thank you for the wonderful day with my children and the snow that is coming down.

I would like help remembering that I should always be striving to be like Your Son. As Christians we need to remember that other people see Jesus through us. If we aren't living a life of Jesus, unbelievers will get the wrong message about what Jesus is really like. Please Lord, keep your hand on me while I am trying to be more like Your Son.

Thank you. In Your name, Amen.

Prayer of the Week- Keeping Away from Evil

Join me for the prayer of the week.

Dear Lord,

Thank you the warm temperatures, the freedoms you provide in my country and the love you give me that I know will never change.

In today's society everywhere we look we see drinking, drugs and fame (to mention a few), please help me to stay turned away from that life. Help me to focus on you.

Teach me and teach my family how to stay strong so Satan cannot break through our Red Rover line. We will not let him break us.

Please bless us and keep us from doing evil.

In Your name I pray. Amen

I hope this prayer of the week will help you throughout the week.

Prayer of the Week- Those Who are Missing from Church Fellowship

Dear Lord,
I would like to thank you for this warm, sunny day you have provided us after many cold days. It was enjoyable going to the park and taking a walk. Thank you for providing us with warm weather tomorrow so we can enjoy nature as you have given it to us.

Tonight I would like to pray for those who are missing from our church fellowship. I know you love us all and how you are concerned for the missing by the parables Jesus told of the missing sheep, the missing coin and the missing son. Help me to keep in mind some different aspects when trying to find those who are missing from our fellowship: count, labor, wait, pray, love unconditionally, welcome, restore and celebrate.

Thank you for all that you do for us. In your name I pray, Amen.

Prayer of the Week- Thank you

Dear Lord,

Thank you for this day you have given me. Thank you for the food on the table, the clothes on my body and the roof over my head. Blessing after blessing you have graciously bestowed upon me.

Forgive me my sins and help me to remove the log from my eye so that I may help others. Lord, please watch over those who are in financial dire straits, those who are homeless and hungry. Protect the innocent and encourage those who have been discouraged. There are many who are hurting and in need. Comfort them this day and give to them hope of a better tomorrow.

In your name Lord Jesus we pray, Amen.

I hope you gain from the prayer from my guest, Jon

Prayer of the Week- THE GOOD SAMARITAN

Dear Lord,

Thank you for such sunny, brisk day. I enjoyed the time I was able to spend with my family.

I read the story of the good Samaritan today to my daughter. Thank you for sharing that story with us. It is very important to remember to always be kind to those who need our help. Help me to remember to help those I see in need. Be with me and show me what I can do for those people; it could be something like a hug or it could be leading them to you.

Thank you for always being there for me. I will remember to pass it on and be there for those who are in need.

In You name I pray, Amen.

Prayer of the Week- THE LOVE YOU GIVE ME

Dear Lord,

Thank you for this day and the love you give me. I feel it from the top of my head down to the tips of my toes.

Sometimes I feel lost and lonely when you do not answer my prayers. I know, though that you have your reasons for doing what you do. Please help me to remember that. I want to always feel this love and never feel abandoned. Help me to remember in my deepest heart that you are always there and I will never be abandoned.

In Jesus's name, Amen

Prayer of the Week- Those in Need

Dear Lord,
Thank you for the wonderful sunny day you gave us.
Tonight I would like to pray for those in need.
Please help and heal those who have been displaced by the Australian bush fires. I also praise you for protecting many in those fires.
On this day be with those whose marriages have strayed from you. Please help those husbands and wives focus on you to help their marriages.
All over the world businesses are having financial difficulties and as a result many people are losing their jobs. Please help those people find new jobs in financially strong Christian companies. The strength of our future is in the younger generation. There are many colleges that have Christian organizations. Please be with them as they disciple to unbelievers at dances, forums and on the street.
With you we can be all we have wanted to be and more. Thank you for continuing to nudge our hearts in the right direction when we have needed it.
In your name we pray, amen.

Prayer of the Week

Dear Lord,
Thank you for this day. The weather has certainly been wonderful and you were speaking through the pastor today.

When it is time to read the Bible remind me that your words need not always make sense to me or come out the way I want them to. I will study the word again and again if I must until I understand them and they help me. Also help me remember not to be prideful or arrogant about my understanding.

Thank you for your love and forgiveness. In your name, Amen

Prayer of the Week

Dear Lord,
I would like to thank you for the wonderful day you gave us. I thought the weather was nice and we had some enjoyable family time.

I need your help to become an uncommon Christian. I know I need to choose only your choices for me and I need to submit myself unreservedly.

Show me what worldly thought and desires I need to shut out. I will submit myself to you, so you can begin to cleanse me. I know with your help I can be an uncommon Christian.

In your name, Amen.

Jabez's Prayer

When I was walking around my house looking at our different Christian books I came across one about The Prayer of Jabez by Bruce Wilkinson. In his book Mr. Wilkinson discusses who Jabez is and how the Jabez's prayer has helped him.

Jabez is only mentioned in two verses in the entire Bible. His two verses are from 1 Chronicles 4:9&10. "And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow. And Jabez called on the God of Isreal, saying Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested."

Mr. Wilkinson has had a great deal of fortune with this prayer and it has been helping me too. I have change the words so it fits me specifically.

Pray Jabez's prayer and I pray it will help you as it has me.

Thank you!!!

I would like to say thank you to all those who read my blog yesterday. I hope you are all enjoying the festivities in Washington D.C. today. Join me as I pray for President Obama.

Dear Lord,
Thank you for the sunny skies and temperatures that were not too cold as the United States of America welcomes their new president. I ask you to be with President Obama and his family as they move forward into their new life. Be with them and guide them as a strong family. Guide Miss Malia Obama and Miss Sasha Obama as they go to school and meet new children. Help First Lady Michelle Obama be a strong mother and wife so she may support her family when they need it. Guide President Obama as he makes new and difficult decisions. Help him to guide the United States of America as the founding fathers did. I will leave you with this verse about wisdom from Proverbs 8:30; "Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him."

Becky's Brainstorm by Elaine Shulte

Becky's Brainstorm, book one of the Twelve Candles Club series was written by Elaine Shulte. It was copyrighted in 1992 and published by Bethany House Publishers. It has 144 pages and is for readers 8-12. This Christian fiction book's main characters are girls, so girls may enjoy reading it more than boys.

Becky is worried they may have to move somewhere less expensive. She decides to start a money making club with her friends. Becky's mother gains courage from Becky and applies for a job with success. They are able to stay in Santa Rosita, California. On Becky's birthday she gets a wonderful idea to start a club that will do odd jobs and babysitting around the neighborhood. They have a lot of success cleaning Mrs. Llewellyn's house and helping her with a party. Becky and her friends have a morning group for kids and Becky sells pizza party invitations to Mr. Morelli and his pizza restaurant. Becky is on television, because she is chased by dogs as she delivers her invitations. The publicity give a lot of business to the club. Becky is still worried that her mom is going to want to move, so she uses prayer guidelines her youth pastor gave her. She prays with one of her friends and her prayers are answered. Becky's mom is accepted for a higher paying job and they will be able to stay in Santa Rosita. Becky learns it takes time for a prayer to be answered. She needs to be patient. Her mom learned to have courage, which she learned from Becky when she started the club.

Elaine Shulte has written 25 novels for women and children. She lives in San Diego, where she writes full-time. She has received a Distinguished Alumna award from Purdue.

One of the best parts of the book is when Becky used real pepperoni on her pizza cards, which caused her to be chased by dogs. The other part I enjoyed is the prayer guidelines sent by Bear, the youth pastor, and how he says God answers prayer in 4 different ways; yes, no, later, and thought you would never ask. The part I did not like is Becky's mother's unwillingness to try for a higher position and letting her mother know about it.

These books remind me a lot of the Babysitters' Club series, but these were better. I would recommend this book, because it shows us faith through prayer. Becky and Bear give us a better understanding of the importance of prayer to those who have a basic understanding of God and those who are learning more about Him.

Baby's Goodnight Blessing by Donna Warren

Baby's Goodnight Blessing is a delightful, small book written by Donna Warren and illustrated by J. Ellen Dolce. It was published by McClanahan Book Company Inc. and copyrighted in 1996. It is a cardboard book that is the perfect size for those little hands that will enjoy lifting the ten flaps that hide items like dogs and balls. The text and realistic illustrations work together to tell the story of a baby who is saying her blessings for her family and other things God has given her. This book is a favorite of my two-year-old daughter. We work it into our prayer at night.

Prayers for Children illustrated by Eloise Wilkin

Prayers for Children is illustrated by Eloise Wilkin and contains prayers and songs with selections from My Little Golden Book about God by Jane Werner Watson and is a large cardboard book. It was copyrighted in 2005 and was published by Random House.
The prayers can be said in the morning, mealtimes and nighttime and are written by many different people. These prayers also include the Lord’s Prayer. I think that by reading this book to young children they will learn about God’s love and good prayers for children to memorize for different times of the day. These poems can help a child or adult write a poem of their own for God.
I thought the illustrations were very peaceful and wholesome. The animals were drawn very well. I did think that there could have been more pictures with boys. I believe the illustrations can help parents and grandparents remember the book from when they were younger. The children listening to the story can relate because the pictures are drawn from a child’s point of view.
My two-year-old and four-year-old enjoy reading this book at different times of the day to say the prayers.
